The Rally Ground is a bustling hive of activity, showcasing engineering ingenuity across a range of machinery from the era of steam.
Brought together by the Maitland Steam and Antique Machinery Association the program features one of Australia’s largest collections of portable engines, traction engines and vintage farming equipment.
The Rally Ground also features a dedicated kids area featuring face painting, jumping castles and coal shovelling, demonstrations hosted by the Museum of Applied Arts and Science (MAAS), as well as Miniature Railway rides, food stalls, Steampunk picnic area and more.
Make sure you stop by Kings Engineering display on the Rally Ground and check out some of their work which includes a grader blade and train wheels from a Red Rattler. A new addition and highlight to this year’s program is the live demonstrations by ARTC of track welding which will be happening at 11.00am and 1.00pm each day.
There is a small donation of $2 for entry to the Rally Ground, however children under 16 years of age receive free entry.
