Take a scenic trip north to the historic town of Paterson.
Your journey will start with a glimpse of Walka Water Works Picnic Reserve as you leave the city before you pass through the rolling green countryside, Mindaribba and Tocal.
There’s only a brief stop in Paterson before the return leg back to Maitland.
Paterson Excursions are steam push/pull journey.
As there is no ability for the steam engine to turn around at Paterson, the engine and carriages arrive and depart in the same order.
This means the steam locomotive will pull the journey from Maitland to Paterson and will then be at the rear and push the return journey from Paterson to Maitland with the assistance of a heritage diesel engine.
Note: Locomotives, destinations and final timetable is subject to change without notice. Seat selection is preference only as carriages may vary.
Due to the Heritage Nature of the locomotives, prams and wheelchairs are unable to be take on the train. A wheelchair and pram enclosure will be situated next to the ticketing tent and patrons able to utilise this for free over the weekend.
