Steamfest 2020 Reimagined

Burton Automotive Hunter Valley Steamfest organisers have reimagined the event to bring the sights and sounds of the historic steam era to screens across the nation and abroad.

The physical event was cancelled last month with the health and safety of the community in mind and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, due to the popularity of the much loved event, organisers are busy working on a virtual event which will be delivered live via the Hunter Valley Steamfest Facebook page on Saturday 18 April.

Events Officer Tori Evans says ‘We are so excited to have the opportunity to engage with our community and bring Steamfest alive under the current circumstances. An estimated 50,000 people attend Burton Automotive Hunter Valley Steamfest each year, but this year, we have the opportunity to reach many more online.

‘To bring this iconic event to life alongside our event sponsor Burton Automotive and partners ARTC, Transport Heritage NSW, Transport NSW and Kings Engineering, is just one way we can bring joy to our community during these difficult times’.

More details about the virtual Steamfest program will be published on facebook.com/huntervalleysteamfest, where the event will be streamed live from 10.00am on Saturday 18 April.
