Hunter Valley Steamfest 2009 will be held on 18 & 19 April, with limited train excursions on Friday 17 April.



Be sure not to miss the hiss, toot and chug of Australia's premier festival of steam. Hunter Valley Steamfest, which was established in 1985 following the closure of the South Maitland Railway line in 1983, attracts over 80,000 visitors to the Maitland area to enjoy a fun filled weekend.

Hunter Valley Steamfest 2008 featured all the old favourites, including:

TRAIN EXCURSIONS
- Over 40 different excursions were planned for the weekend of Steamfest with regular steam trains and vintage diesels (tin hares) running between Maitland, Newcastle, Branxton and Paterson. Not to be missed were the many specialty trains. For full details Click Here.
 

STREET STEAM
- Street steam was again a popular attraction for visitors to enjoy.
- Miniture loco's wereon display at the Rally Ground, where visitors could also view traction engines and trackless trains.
