Description

Back by popular demand, this is a real treat for all steam enthusiasts. The Port Waratah Coal journey will start in Maitland enroute to Broadmeadow and Port Waratah before heading west back to Maitland. The return trip will take approximately 3 hours.

Port Waratah Excursions are a steam pull/ diesel push journey.

As you depart Maitland heading east, the steam locomotive will push from the rear, assisted by a heritage diesel engine at the front. As you enter into Broadmeadow you will enter a rail triangle which will allow the Steam to then pull from the front as you head to towards Port Waratah.
