Description

Head west for a glimpse of Hunter Valley Wine Country through the towns of Lochinvar, Allandale. This is a perfect trip for those who don’t want to be too far from the action of Hunter Valley Steamfest as the return trip takes just over an hour.

Branxton Excursions are a steam pull/diesel push journey.

As there is no ability for the steam engine to turn around at Branxton, the engine and carriages arrive and depart in the same order. This means the steam locomotive will pull the journey from Maitland to Branxton and will then be at the rear and push the return journey from Branxton to Maitland with the assistance of a heritage diesel engine.

Note: Locomotives, destinations and final timetable is subject to change without notice. Seat selection is preference only as carriages may vary.

Due to the Heritage Nature of the locomotives, prams and wheelchairs are unable to be take on the train. A wheelchair and pram enclosure will be situated next to the ticketing tent and patrons able to utilise this for free over the weekend.
