The Steamfest excursions will be returing for yet another Steamfest in 2012.  Engines 3265, 3526 and 3642 will be back and offering shuttle runs to Newcastle, Paterson and Branxton.

GREEN STEAM

 

Hunter Valley Steamfest
2012 Green Steam Target

Green Steam is a Steamfest initiative that began in 2009 in an effort to offset the carbon emission from the steam operations during the Steamfest weekend.

In 2012 Steamfest passengers have the opportunity purchase a Green Steam ticket for all excursions. Green Steam is an additional $2 per ticket and 100% of sales of the Green Steam portion of tickets will go towards offsetting the carbon emissions generated by the event. 

Hunter Valley Steamfest’s target is for 75% of passengers to buy a Green Steam ticket. If successful this will contribute to green initiatives to completely offset the carbon emissions produced by the steam operations of the event. 

 

ENGINES

Hunter Valley Steamfest 2012 will see the arrival of Steam Engines 3265, 3526, 3642 as well as a 620 class diesel rail motor.
