Maitland & District Historical Society

The Maitland & District Historical Society will offer Steamfest visitors many opportunities to learn more about the history of Maitland and the significance of the railway in the area. Between 10am – 2pm on both Saturday and Sunday of the Festival, members of the society will lead Maitland Railway Station Precinct Heritage Walks. These walks will be half an hour in duration at a cost of $5 per person which will include a printed brochure on the key featured sites.

In addition to the Walking Tours the Historical Society will also offer local area information, advice on historical point of interest and will have a series of publications available for purchase.
